Experimental Cinemagraphs
A series of cinemagraphs done for my Digital Foundations class. Using Adobe Photoshop, I played with the masking and video layers to achieve the desired looping and time standstill effects. The first three are real-life and done around my house, while the remaining three are in video game format to showcase those virtual environments; I wanted to experiment with both real-life and video-game methods, hence why they switch up, and to get a grasp on the different ways to loop and edit different animations. The best way, I thought, was to try both areas of environmental animation: real-life and video game. I think using virtual environments on top of the real-life editions helps me realize the potential for video games as an art tool rather than just entertainment, and I hope it does the same for you.
